About Us

Our History

DTMC is a Detroit-based all-male chorus that was founded in 1982. Joining together in song to promote a positive image of our LGBT community and men of all backgrounds and orientation, metro Detroit’s premier men’s chorus serves the communities of southeastern Michigan; northern Ohio; and Windsor, Ontario.

Having performed in major cities around the country, members of DTMC have come from as far away as Australia and sometimes–a little more closely–from Toledo and Ann Arbor. DTMC is currently in its 35th season with nearly 35 voices and a strong, volunteer membership who give tirelessly of themselves. Without our donors and volunteers, DTMC wouldn’t be able to sing as proudly as we do and we are grateful. Thank you.

DTMC continues to evolve and inspire, and we are always mindful of our beginnings and accept the challenges that lie ahead. It is an exciting time for the metro Detroit area and as DTMC breaks new ground and achieves new heights we do so in the fellowship and joy of making music together!
